Openness and transparency are also characteristics of this project: An architectural competition was launched together with the city of Munich shortly after the announcement of the new-build project. The Munich citizens were able to put forward their ideas and suggestions. With a significant majority the competition jury in June 2011 voted for the concept from the Danish Henning Larsen Architects (HLA). The design is for a modern and transparent office building with an innovative presence.

The extension is completely timber construction. It uses the innovative Uniglas Facade – wood-glass composite elements, which offer structural, energy-saving and design benefits even in the production process with 40% lower CO2 emissions than normal facade systems.

House of the Future – Berlin

The exciting plans from the Berlin architects Richter and Musikowsky are highly progressive. The building is due to open its doors in 2017. With its new patented groove and tongue all-glass system, Petschenig glastec was able to realise the demanding facade design of the Berlin architects.
